I came across a quote the other day that really got me thinking.

“Whether you think you can, or if you think you can’t… you’re right.”

If I’ve learned one thing over the course of my entrepreneurial journey.. it’s that MINDSET is what matters most. If you believe you can achieve whatever it is you’re working for, whether that’s a 10k month, a 6 figure year, or even just your first client… you can do it if you stick with it.

On the other hand, if you have your doubts, and let your fears creep in and take over, you’re going to be one of the many who unfortunately fall off the wagon.

The good news?

You can choose to change your mindset right now. That’s the beauty of it- you are in complete control over your thoughts, so you can form them into thoughts that serve you and your business instead of ones that keep you stuck in a negative place with little to no success.

How to change your mindset right now:

Read a good book. My recommendations for books on mindset work that will get you inspired and thinking positively and abundantly are: (in no particular order… and of course there are a lot more out there, here are just a few suggestions)

  1. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
  2. The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace Wattles
  3. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

Meditate on positivity. Find a guided meditation that you love for abundant mindset, or positivity, or even just anxiety/stress relief. Getting present in the moment and allowing yourself to clear out the negative clutter will give your mind a clear slate to get positive thoughts flowing.


Use affirmations like they’re going out of style.(They’re not, by the way.) Affirmations are seriously great ways to re-teach your inner voice to speak with a positive tone. Every time you hear yourself say something negative, replace it with something positive.For example, “This is really hard, I feel like I’m never going to get my first client,” could be replaced with “I am accomplishing so much. I provide so much value to those around me. My first client is coming to me very soon.” Allow yourself to feel this as truth, and it will become your reality.


Surround yourself with positive people. I’m sure you’ve heard that you are who you hang out with. If you surround yourself with people who are always complaining, always stressed out, and always looking at the negative in everything, it’s going to rub off. Surround yourself with other positive, powerful women and allow them into your life with gratitude.


Make sure you’re okay! If you’re totally burnt out and feeling down about things, check in with yourself. Burning yourself out can cause you to get negative realllly quick. If you’re in a particularly negative mood, do whatever you have to do to get your mindset back on track. Don’t just let it happen… your body and mind are trying to tell you something needs to be attended to!Check in with yourself using the following questions:

  1. Are you hungry or thirsty?
  2. Do you need to take a shower/bath or get dressed and put on makeup?
  3. Are you tired?
  4. Does your body need some movement or stretches?
  5. Do you need some cuddles from a fur baby or loved one?
  6. Is there something you’re putting off that you can get done right now?
  7. Have you connected with someone who inspires you lately?

So there you have it- 5 simple ways you can create a more positive mindset right now.

The only way to succeed is perseverance, and because you’re in this for the long haul, you’re going to have bad days here and there. The secret is not giving up and doing what it takes to get things back on track, then getting right back into the game.
